Design Iteration
Designing for
long-term scalability,
not just visual appeal.
The first iteration focused on validating the
product concept. Through usability reviews and
product thinking, I refined the experience to reduce
cognitive load, improve group coordination, and
create a design system capable of scaling
with future features.
Key Design Decisions

Collaborative Progress Visibility
Replaced isolated contribution tracking with a shared
progress timeline so every member can see how
individual actions contribute to the group's goal.
Keeps users focused on the outcome rather than the
mechanics of saving.

Goal-Centered Experience
Reorganized the dashboard to prioritize the savings
goal, progress, and remaining amount before
secondary information like transactions.
Keeps users focused on the outcome rather than the
mechanics of saving.

Micro-Contributions
Encourages frequent, low-effort saving habits.
Introduced quick contribution chips and one-tap actions
to reduce friction when adding money.

Social Accountability
Creates positive peer motivation without feeling competitive.
Added member avatars, contribution status, and recent
activity to reinforce collective responsibility.

Milestone Celebrations
Introduced milestone animations, progress celebrations,
and completion states throughout the journey.
Rewards consistent behavior and increases long-term\
engagement.
Design v1
Individual payments first
Financial information scattered
Little emotional motivation
Weak sense of progress
Design v2
Goal becomes the hero
Group progress first
Clear contribution timeline
Milestone-driven experience
Why this iteration
Better Scanability
User can quickly grasp
progress and what to do
next.

Better Social Engaging
Member visibility and
activity build trust and
encourage action.

Higher Conversion
Clear CTAs and amount
chips reduce friction and
increase contributions.

Easy Scalability
A flexible foundation
ready for future features
and growth.

Better Experience
Cleaner, more modern
interface that users do
enjoy using.

Traditional finance apps focus on balances and transactions.
Together shifts the emphasis to the shared goal, helping users
understand why they're saving instead of simply tracking how
much they've spent.
A Goal-First Experience
The progress indicator is intentionally placed at the top of
the experience, giving every member immediate visibility into
how close the group is to reaching its shared goal.
Design Decision
Feature #1
People are more likely to stay committed when they can
see collective progress. By making the shared goal the
visual focus, every contribution feels meaningful, encouraging
accountability and keeping the group motivated until
the goal is achieved.
Shared Progress, Shared
Motivation
Each member's contribution is surfaced within the goal to
eliminate uncertainty and reinforce accountability without
requiring manual coordination.
Design Decision
Feature #2
Brand Identity & Design System
Building a scalable design system to
establish trust and potential.
Together's design system was created to provide a foundation for consistent user experiences and efficient product development.
It combines a flexible component system with a modern visual language that helps the product scale while maintaining clarity,
accessibility, and trust.

From one missed trip to a product opportunity.
Planning a trip to Japan with friends exposed a surprisingly common problem: everyone was committed to the experience,
but no one had a structured way to save for it. Rather than treating it as an isolated incident, I explored whether this behavior
existed at scale. That investigation became the foundation for Together—a product designed around collaborative saving,
accountability, and shared financial goals.
Rather than designing from assumptions, I involved
potential users early in the process to understand their
planning habits, saving behaviors, and pain points.
Validating assumptions before
designing the solution.
User Research & Validation
These conversations helped validate the opportunity,
uncover recurring patterns, and shape the product's
core experience before moving into high-fidelity design.
Together's visual identity was built around one principle: make financial planning feel approachable rather than intimidating.
Soft shapes, optimistic illustrations, and a clean interface create an experience that encourages collaboration while maintaining
the trust users expect from a fintech product.
Designing a brand that makes saving feel collaborative,
trustworthy, and rewarding.
